Terrestrials are the summer edge: once grasshoppers are in the grass, wind blows them onto the water all afternoon and fish move into the banks to wait for them. A big, high-floating, high-visibility fly that fish will cross a pool to take, and a superb indicator to hang a nymph beneath. Cast it tight to the bank and let it land hard — a real hopper does.
